Today, the solemn opening ceremony of the eighth WKF Karate Championship of Central Asia was held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The best athletes from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan participate in the tournament, Sport.kg reports.
The ceremony was attended by guests of honor, including the President of the Central Asian Karate-do Federation Sarsenbay Abdullayev, the chairman of the judging panel of the Asian Karate Federation Mansur Al-Sultan, the President of the National Karate-do Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanybek Turdumambetov and others.
In total, 30 sets of medals in three age categories will be played within the tournament: cadets (14-15 years old), juniors (16-17 years old), adults (18 years old and older). Competitions are held in kata and kumite.
