Titanic: Honor and Glory Features Traditional Turkmen Carpets

Video game Titanic: Honor and Glory features beautiful Turkmen carpets in the hotel halls of the luxury passenger ship Titanic. The carpets are of red color with traditional Teke gols (ornaments).

Developed by Vintage Digital Revival, the game is an accurate virtual representation of the RMS Titanic and is designed to be both entertaining and a teaching tool to commemorate those who lost their lives in the 1912 disaster.

The team is building a Titanic model that will allow players to explore every room on the ship, from the cabins to the hidden passages to the smallest linen closets and store rooms.

This will help to get a truly immersive experience of what life was like on the Titanic.

One of the historical consultants of the game, Bill Sauder, was also a consultant on both the 1996 computer game Titanic: Adventure Out of Time and the 1997 Film Titanic, as well as an expert panelist on National Geographic's 2012 television special Titanic: The Final Word with James Cameron.

The latest demo for the game was released on March 3, 2023, allowing players to explore half the ship.

Traditional Turkmen carpet making art has been added to UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The decision was made at the 14th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage, which took place on December 9-14, 2019 in the capital of Columbia, Bogota.
