Topical issues of cooperation with UNESCO were discussed

On 10 April 2026, a meeting was held via videoconference between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty Amir Piric.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO.It was emphasized that interaction with this organization remains an important area of the country’s international humanitarian cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to further strengthening cooperation aimed at developing cultural dialogue, as well as implementing joint projects within UNESCO’s priority areas of activity.The sides also considered issues related to the implementation of previously proposed initiatives and agreed on approaches for their further practical advancement.

The coordinating role of the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty in ensuring the effective implementation of projects at the national and regional levels was also emphasized.
