Turkish Embassy in Ashgabat Marks 101st Republic Day Anniversary

The Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan held a celebratory reception on Tuesday in honor of Turkey’s Republic Day.

The event was attended by Batyr Atdayev, Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan's Cabinet of Ministers and Co-Chairman of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, along with representatives from diplomatic missions and international organizations.

In his remarks, Atdayev highlighted the productivity and strength of Turkmenistan-Türkiye relations, emphasizing the long-standing traditions of friendship and partnership binding the two nations. He also discussed the significant growth in trade and economic relations between the countries, underscoring their importance in strengthening bilateral ties.

Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Demirok noted that this year marks 32 years since diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Türkiye were established. The ambassador expressed gratitude to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for their support in bolstering intergovernmental relations.

Demirok reflected on Türkiye’s significant advancements over the past century in areas such as the economy, healthcare, education, and technology, expressing confidence that the nation will continue to serve as an example for the region and the world.

Republic Day, celebrated on October 29, is one of Türkiye’s most important national holidays, symbolizing the founding of the Turkish Republic in 1923 and the proclamation of its first president, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
