Turkmen Ambassador and JATA Chief Discuss Direct Flights

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov, met Monday with newly appointed Japan Association of Travel Agents Chairman Yuji Hara to discuss promoting direct flights between the two countries, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan reported on Wednesday.

Bayramov congratulated Hara on his election as JATA chairman, and the two sides discussed further steps to strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and the association.

According to the embassy, cooperation between Turkmenistan and JATA began in 2013, when the country participated in the JATA Travel Showcase international tourism exhibition. Other key events included the Tourism Opportunities of Turkmenistan conference held in Tokyo in 2014 and the Turkmenistan Land of Friendship, Brotherhood and Hospitality international conference organized during Expo 2025 Osaka.

The meeting also focused on promoting direct air links between Turkmenistan and Japan and expanding cooperation between government agencies and tourism companies in both countries.
