Turkmen Ambassador Discusses Cooperation With Georgian Parliament Committee Head

Turkmenistan’s ambassador to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, met Friday in Tbilisi with David Matikashvili, chairman of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Procedural Issues and head of the Georgian-Turkmen interparliamentary friendship group, to discuss the development of bilateral relations, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.

The sides reviewed prospects for cooperation in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, and cultural and humanitarian fields, including engagement within international organizations.

The participants noted the steady growth of Turkmen-Georgian parliamentary ties and underscored the importance of high-level visits and active interaction between lawmakers in strengthening mutual trust and exchanging experience.

Particular attention was given to expanding cooperation between interparliamentary friendship groups, described as an important tool for promoting constructive and sustainable interstate dialogue.

The sides reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen partnership in areas of mutual interest.
