Turkmen Ambassador in Kabul Attends Event Ahead of WUF13

Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Kabul, Hoja Ovezov, took part in an event on May 5, 2026, dedicated to the upcoming World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to take place in Baku from May 17 to 22. The meeting took place at the Kabul Grand Hotel, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kabul reported on Wednesday.

The event was organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) office in Afghanistan and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kabul. Heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in the Afghan capital attended the gathering.

During the meeting, Ambassador Ovezov delivered remarks highlighting Turkmenistan’s active cooperation with UN-Habitat, as well as national initiatives aimed at improving urban environments, developing infrastructure and promoting environmentally sustainable communities.

Participants were also presented with information about the city of Arkadag, where digital and green technologies have been introduced in the social sector.

The event featured a photo exhibition showcasing Arkadag, along with a video presentation dedicated to the city.
