Turkmen chess players lead the Asian Championship among schoolchildren

The 17th Asian Chess Championship among schoolchildren continues in Tashkent, where Turkmen athletes show good results, the press service of the country's Chess Federation reports.

According to the results of the first four rounds of the competition with the classical time regulations, Myahri Agamuradova and Gulmira Seyilhanova led the tournament tables in the categories among girls under 13 and under 15 years old, respectively. Both of them are pupils of the sports school № 13 of the city of Turkmenabat.

Also, in the group of leaders in their categories are Lala Shohradova (under 17 years old) and Aya Bayramova (under 9 years old), who occupy fourth and third places with 3 points each. Nebahat Muradova (under 11 years old) and Enejan Charygeldyeva (under 7 years old) have 2 and 1 points each, respectively.

Among young men and boys, the Turkmen representatives have not yet been able to take the lead, but they have a chance to improve their position in the remaining five rounds.

Sanjar Gaybullayev (under 15 years old), Ali Ahmedov (under 13 years old), Alihan Batyrov (under 11 years old) and Omarbek Ismailov (under 9 years old), who scored 2 points out of 4 possible, have the highest score among them.

The championship is attended by 330 chess players from 17 countries in Asia and Australia, including such chess powers as India, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. The classic tournament will last until July 19, and then will be the blitz tournament.

Let us note that chess in Turkmenistan is a popular and developing sport that has its own history, traditions and achievements. The country has the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan, which organizes various competitions and tournaments, and also supports young talents.

Turkmen chess players also take part in international tournaments and show good results.
