Today, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting between Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Vepa Hajiyev and Special Representative of the President of China, First Deputy Foreign Minister of China in the rank of Minister Ma Zhaoxu, who is in Ashgabat on a working visit.
The parties considered issues of preparation for the upcoming summit of the heads of state of Central Asia and China, which will be held on May 18-19 in the city of Xi'an. Interaction within the framework of the "Central Asia - China" format is highlighted as a priority.
The diplomats noted the dynamic development of trade and economic relations, effective cooperation in the energy sector. In this context, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan and China have a huge potential, the implementation of which will bring bilateral trade and economic relations to a higher level.
We remind that today Ma Zhaoxu conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov an invitation from the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping to participate in the upcoming Central Asia-China summit.
