Turkmen, Indian Business Circles Discuss Ways to Strengthen Cooperation

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan on Thursday hosted online negotiations of Turkmen business delegation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India.

According to TDH news agency’s report, the Turkmen delegation included specialists of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the Ministry of Textile Industry and its enterprises and structures of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Vidhu Pithambaran Nair and heads of a number of large Indian companies also took part in the meeting.

The main topic of the negotiations was the ways and mechanisms for strengthening trade and economic relations between the two countries, primarily in the field of light industry, supplies of textile products and leather goods.

The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the head of the Commerce Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India briefed the delegations of the two countries with the activities of their departments and specific proposals for the development of partnership.

The parties stressed the need to regularly hold such business events, meetings of the joint business council in an online format for a more complete study of the possibilities of expanding mutual trade.

The Turkmen side particularly focused on organizing the export of Turkmen goods such as textiles, leather products and carpets. Representatives of such domestic enterprises as Röwşen, Abadan Haly, Muhammet-Balkan and Batly-Gadam presented their products.

The Indian side also presented its rich experience in the textile and leather industry, expressing its readiness to cooperate both in the field of organizing industrial production and in the supply of raw materials and finished products.
