Turkmen President Arrives in Kyrgyzstan for Central Asian Leaders' Meeting

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Kyrgyzstan on Thursday for a working visit to attend an informal meeting of the Central Asian Leaders and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The meeting is taking place in Cholpon-Ata, in Kyrgyzstan's Issyk-Kul Region, Turkmen state media reported.

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev met the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at Issyk-Kul International Airport.

According to the report, the regional leaders are expected to discuss ways to strengthen longstanding partnerships, expand political, trade, economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, and exchange views on key regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The informal meeting brings together the presidents of the five Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan to discuss further regional cooperation and other issues of shared interest.
