President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in State of Qatar on Sunday on a state visit, the official Turkmen media reported.
At the Ashgabat International Airport, President Berdimuhamedov and the representative of the Embassy of Qatar in Turkmenistan emphasized the fruitful and trusting nature of the Turkmen-Qatari relations, based on the mutual desire to take the long-standing cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
Wishing the Head of Turkmenistan a successful visit, the representative of the embassy of Qatar said that the talks in Doha would be an important event in the history of interstate dialogue, to the development of which Qatar attaches great importance.
Upon his arrival at the Hamad International Airport in Doha, the Turkmen President was greeted by Qatari government officials.
According to the report, Doha will host high-level Turkmen-Qatari talks that will define the key vectors of cooperation taking into account the current realities and existing potential.
The opening of an Embassy of Turkmenistan in Doha is also expected to take place within the framework of the state visit of President Berdimuhamedov. The Head of Turkmenistan signed a Decree to this end on December 9, 2022.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Qatar were established in November 1996.
