Turkmen President Arrives in Tajikistan For Fifth Central Asian Summit

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Tajikistan on Thursday to participate in the Fifth Anniversary Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian State, according to the National News Agency of Tajikistan Khovar.

The Head of Turkmenistan will also take part in the meeting of heads of founding states of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS).

Upon his arrival at Dushanbe International Airport, President Berdimuhamedov was welcomed by Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda and other officials,

The visit also includes a series of high-level meetings and negotiations between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan to discuss various aspects of bilateral cooperation.

On September 13, the First Meeting of Transport Ministers of Central Asian countries took place in Dushanbe, resulting in the adoption of a Joint Communiqué.

A meeting was held between Tajikistan's Foreign Minister, Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, and Turkmenistan's Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, in Dushanbe on the same day.
