Turkmen President Attends Festive Celebrations of National Horse Day

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended celebrations at the International Ahalteke Horse Racing Complex on Sunday on the occasion of the National Holiday of Turkmen horse, the official Turkmen media reported.

Chairman of Mejlis, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads and representatives of ministries, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, diplomatic missions, and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, media representatives attended the event.

The exhibition of works by artisans, painters as well as masters of carpet art from all over Turkmenistan was held in the complex.

According to the report, the competition had seven races of varying lengths, each attended by dozens of horses displaying the highest athletic attributes.

At the end of the competition, the winners of races were honored with valuable presents, money, and diplomas. Furthermore, the winner of the final race received the "Akhan" prize and Turkmen President’s Cup.

On Saturday, President Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening ceremony of the equestrian complex of military and law enforcement bodies in Ak Bugday district, as well as the awarding ceremony of the winners of "Ýylyň iwadan ahalteke bedewi” (The most beautiful Ahalteke horse of the year) International Competition.
