Turkmen President Congratulates New British Prime Minister Liz Truss

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the people and Government of Turkmenistan, has sent congratulations to Liz Truss on her assumption of the post of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the official Turkmen media reported on Tuesday.

"I am confident that through joint efforts the friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom, based on the principles of mutual understanding, equality and trust, will continue to develop for the sake of a bright future for both peoples," Berdimuhamedov said his message.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the new Prime Minister Liz Truss good health, happiness and success in her endeavors aimed at the prosperity of the United Kingdom.

Liz Truss was named as the new leader of the UK's Conservative Party on Monday and was formally appointed as Prime Minister by Queen Elizabeth II on Tuesday.
