Turkmen President Holds Talks With South Korean President

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, within the framework of a working visit to New York to participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol on Monday, the official Turkmen media reports.

The Presidents acknowledged the fruitful bilateral cooperation between their countries, as well as their collaboration within international organizations, particularly the United Nations. They expressed satisfaction with their constructive partnership in supporting initiatives aimed at achieving long-lasting peace, stability, and security.

The sides also highlighted the successful bilateral cooperation within the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum. Within the framework of Turkmenistan's chairmanship in this structure, the 16th meeting of the Forum is scheduled to be held in Ashgabat in November.

President Berdimuhamedov expressed strong confidence that the upcoming meeting of the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum would enhance coordination and joint efforts in implementing economic, cultural, and humanitarian projects at the regional level.

In conclusion, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together to elevate Turkmen-Korean relations to a new qualitative level for the mutual benefit of both countries.

On Monday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also held bilateral talks with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the President of the European Council Charles Michel and the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
