President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Minister of the UAE Presidential Administration Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Ashgabat on Sunday, the official Turkmen media reports.
The UAE official was greeted by the Head of Turkmenistan at the Ashagabt International Airport.
Sheikh Mansur bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his gratitude to the Turkmen President, and conveyed greetings from the UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to the Head of Turkmenistan, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty and the Turkmen people.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said he is pleased to see a high-ranking UAE representative in Ashgabat and conveyed his and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's best wishes to the UAE leadership.
The Turkmen President, taking into account the enormous opportunities and mutual interests of the two countries, expressed confidence that the Sheikh Mansur bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit will give a new powerful impetus to the development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the sides noted that Turkmenistan was developing large-scale projects on transport systems and had great prospects for establishing relations with foreign partners with extensive experience in this area, including major companies of the UAE.
The Turkmenbashi International Seaport is one of the largest transport centers of international importance in the directions East-West and North-South. The seaport fully meets the objectives of establishing supply chains with ports in the UAE, and may become an attractive project for companies specializing in port management and logistics services, according to the report.
The sides noted that the implementation of joint projects opens up new opportunities for attracting investment, creating mixed production, building a modern infrastructure system, increasing the interaction in the banking and financial sectors.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan confirmed the UAE business community's interest in building a productive partnership with Turkmenistan.
