Turkmen-romanian consultations on consular issues held in Bucharest

On 14 May 2026, consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Romania were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania in Bucharest at the level of heads of consular services.

Oana Darie, Director General of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.During the consultations, the sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in the consular and migration spheres, including visa cooperation, protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, as well as improvement of the legal framework.

Particular attention was paid to the digitalization of consular services and training of consular personnel.Following the meeting, the sides confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening practical cooperation between Turkmenistan and Romania in the consular sphere.
