Turkmen School Students Perform Successfully in Online Olympiads

Rapid digital technology advancement has contributed to a growing interest among young people in entering online intellectual competitions.This is of great importance in the context of harmonious personal development as gaining access to innovative science and technology web platforms, having an opportunity to exchange knowledge and skills with peers from other countries, and looking for non-standard solutions stimulate explorative potential, creativity and scientific thinking.

An overview of Turkmen students’ performance in a series of international online competitions, organized by leading educational centers of the world this summer, is presented below.Turkmen schoolers have won two silver medals at the Global Youth Science and Technology Bowl 2020, an international science competition in biology, chemistry, physics and engineering.

The lucky winners are Osmangeldy Atanov, a recent graduate from Ashgabat Specialized School No. 87, and Sanjar Saburov, a tenth-grader at the same school.The boys’ chemistry and math teachers helped them to prepare for the competition.

Notably, with a total of 475 projects submitted 95 projects made it through to the final.Sanjar Saburov has also won a bronze medal in chemistry at the Vilnius International Project Olympiad 2020 (VILIPO), hosted by Lithuania’s research center.

Sanjar participated in the online competition together with his brother Bekhruz Saburov (both attending Ashgabat School No. 87).In July, Turkmen schoolchildren earned two silver and two bronze medals at the 54th International Mendeleev Olympiad, which was also held online.

They are Berdyklych Rejepbaev, a tenth-grader at the State Boarding School for Gifted Children and Davud Mukhammetgulyev, a ninth-grader at Ashgabat School No. 86, which specializes in English, Chemistry and Biology.

Tenth-year student Yusup Dovletmuradov and ninth-year student Gozel Dovranova at the State Boarding School for Gifted Children are the bronze medal winners.Representatives of 36 countries took part in the International Online Mathematics Competition 2020 (I-EMC).

Ninth-grader Jennet Zamanova and Orazmamet Saparov, both attending Ashgabat School No. 86, received gold and silver awards respectively.We wish young Turkmen intellectuals all the best on their journey to acquiring new knowledge.
