Turkmen schoolchildren win four medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad in Switzerland

Four medals - one silver and three bronze - were won by Turkmen schoolchildren at the 55th International Chemistry Olympiad held in Zurich (Switzerland) from July 13 to 25 this year, the Watan information program of the Turkmen television reported today.

The subject Olympiad brought together 348 high school students from 89 countries, including Turkmenistan, which was represented by four students from a specialized boarding school in Ashgabat.

Yhlas Jumaev, a 11th grade student of a specialized boarding school in Ashgabat, won a silver medal, while 11th grade students of the same educational institution Yakup Annaorazov, Begzada Annayev and a 10th grade student Aygul Atajanova were awarded bronze medals.

The slogan of this year's Olympiad was: "Let's find solutions together."

As the organizers emphasize, future chemists now play a key role, since in the future their knowledge will help to cope with climate change or the energy crisis.

The 56th International Chemistry Olympiad will be held in July 2024 in Saudi Arabia.
