Starting from 1 July students of Ashgabat higher educational establishments will be involved in every day rehearsals, according to sources at “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”.
Foreign specialists have been invited to stage the opening and closing ceremonies for the Asian games and other festivities. They will also be supervising students.
Special passes with photos will be handed out to students. This means that starting from July sports facilities will be guarded by the police.
In some higher educational establishments, in particular in Turkmen State Universities, students have been warned that they will have to pay about 750 manats ($214 using the government-established rate or about $115 using the “black market” exchange rate).
“Gundogar” have previously reported that the Italian company Balich Worldwide Shows will be involved to stage the ceremonies.
According to the media outlet, the company will be paid $100-120 million for this work.
It should be noted that students of higher and secondary vocational educational establishments have not been paid their stipends on time. In the meantime, only March stipends have been paid in the majority of universities.
