Turkmen textile dolls to be presented in Moscow

Recently, textile and rag dolls have become very popular. Whole exhibitions and master classes are devoted to them, where adults and self-sufficient people master the skill of making these cute products. Recently, a traveling exhibition of traditional Japanese ninge dolls has completed its work in Ashgabat, arousing great interest among residents of the capital of Turkmenistan.

Modern needlewomen explain that such a large-scale interest in dolls is caused by the uniqueness of the images. After all, each author’s work is unique in its own way, and you will not find a second one like this anywhere.

A large exposition of various dolls will be presented in Moscow, at the International Festival of Cultures “Oriental Bazaar “Tyubeteyka”, which starts on April 8th. Dressed in traditional costumes of the peoples of the world, the dolls will convey the national spirit and customs of the countries in which they were created.

Among the dolls-shamans, fairies, harlequins and many others, oriental beauties stand out brightly. “Spirit of the Desert” will be presented at the exhibition by craftswomen from Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Their “hand-made” attracts attention with small details this is an original bakhshi doll with a small dutar in its hands, and a perky Turkmen girl in a traditional takhya headdress.

Oriental author’s dolls are products of compatriot needlewomen Bakhar Durdyeva, Bakhtygul Annakulieva and Nadezhda Kolesnikova.Thanks to their works, the craftswomen became famous far beyond the borders of their countries.

We can say that their famous dolls are already traveling the world on their own and have even been where their creators have never gone before.These textile beauties carry not only the sophistication and originality of handicrafts, but also the national culture.

Within the framework of the international festival “Oriental Bazaar “Tyubeteyka”, a sale of some items of decorative and applied art will take place. It will also be possible to purchase dolls in costumes of the peoples of the world from private collections.
