The state information agency TDH reports that a new international seaport in Turkmenbashi is scheduled to be opened on 2 May.
Moreover, the International Transport Forum and the specialized exhibition will be held in the national recreation area “Avaza” on 2 May.
Let us recall that the groundbreaking ceremony was held on 15 March 2013 on the Caspian Sea, which was attended by President Gurbanuly Berdymukhammedov and the former Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Erdogan.
It was reported that the port with an estimated value of 2 billion US dollars would be built by the Turkish construction company GAP Insaat, headed by entrepreneur Akhmet Chalyk.
The construction works, which was supposed to be controlled by German-based company Inros Lackner AG, were scheduled to be completed in 2016.
