Turkmenistan accredits new ambassadors of Sweden, the Netherlands and Mongolia

Letters of credence from the newly appointed Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden (with residence in Stockholm) - Thomas Danestad, the Netherlands (with residence in Astana) - Andre Carstens and Mongolia (with residence in Astana) - Dorzhiyna Bayarkhuu was received on Thursday by the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Gulshat Mammedova, reports the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper today.

On behalf of the head of Turkmenistan, the head of the national Parliament congratulated each of the foreign diplomats on their appointment to a responsible position, wishing them success in strengthening the ties of friendship and interstate dialogue, which is successfully developed both on a bilateral and multilateral basis, including on the platform of major international organizations and structures.

The plenipotentiaries of friendly countries, in turn, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the leadership of their states to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the entire Turkmen people, who are confidently following the chosen path of grandiose transformations in the era of the Revival of a new era of a powerful state.

During the meetings, was an exchange of views on issues of productive interaction, built from the standpoint of equality and mutual benefit.

The ambassadors were informed about the main directions and priorities of the domestic and foreign policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan, the most important vector of which is the establishment of broad international cooperation in the interests of global peace, security and sustainable development.

The diplomats also got acquainted with the structure and activities of the Turkmen Parliament, its work on legislative support for reforms in various areas, and the exchange of experience in lawmaking. In this regard, the possibilities of expanding the inter-parliamentary dialogue, including on the platform of international parliamentary structures, were discussed.

Noting the interest of their countries in enhancing cooperation with independent neutral Turkmenistan in a wide range of areas, the diplomats assured of their readiness to contribute to the comprehensive deepening of traditionally friendly bilateral relations and diversification of multifaceted productive cooperation.

Turkmenistan established diplomatic relations with Sweden on April 10, 1992, with the Netherlands on May 20, 1992, and with Mongolia on April 23, 1992.

Previously, the functions of the Ambassador of Sweden to Turkmenistan (with residence in Stockholm) were performed by Ingrid Tersman, the Ambassador of the Netherlands (with residence in Moscow) by Veronica Maria Jones-Bos, and the Ambassador of Mongolia (with residence in Astana) by Luvsan Battulga.
