Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan Strengthen Cooperation in Labor and Social Protection

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan Muhammetseyit Sylapov, visited DOST Center No. 1 in Baku during an official visit and was introduced to its activities, the DOST concept and digital public services, AZERTAC reported on Monday.

Following the visit to the center Sylapov met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev.The sides highlighted the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in labor and social protection signed between the ministries of the two countries.

The document creates a legal framework for regular dialogue, exchange of experience and implementation of joint projects.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in modernizing social insurance systems, digitalizing services and developing vocational training and skills development programs. They also reviewed prospects for cooperation in labor and social protection, employment programs, pension system development and support for people in need.

At the end of the meeting, the parties noted, draft agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of pension provision already prepared. Sylapov reaffirmed the Turkmen side’s interest in further expanding bilateral cooperation and exchanging experience in labor and social protection.
