Turkmenistan and Georgia agreed on cooperation in popularizing the heritage of Magtymguly

A meeting was held in Tbilisi between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov and the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia Roin Metreveli. The purpose of the negotiations was to develop relations between the two countries in the scientific field, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

During the conversation, the ambassador spoke about the celebration in Turkmenistan of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi. In honor of this, the year 2024 has been declared in the country as the year of “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”.

In response, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia expressed his readiness for further cooperation and proposed holding an international conference dedicated to the work of Magtymguly Fragi. In his opinion, this will contribute to the study and popularization of the rich literary heritage of the great Turkmen poet-philosopher in the world.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain interaction between the academies of sciences of the two countries.
