Turkmenistan and Pakistan discussed energy cooperation

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hadzhiev held talks on the implementation of the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line with the Federal Minister of Energy of Pakistan Hammad Azhar.

Hammad Azhar reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to the TAPI project and stressed the need to accelerate the implementation of the project. The same commitment to the multilateral project was expressed by Turkmenistan, Dispatch News Desk reports.

The Pakistani Energy Minister also expressed the determination of his Government to complete the TAPI project as soon as possible due to Pakistan's need for additional natural gas supplies.

The agency's message notes that the delegation of Turkmenistan also included Chairman of the Board and CEO of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited Mukhammetmyrat Amanov, Head of the Department of International Energy Projects in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan direction of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan M.

Artykov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atajan Movlamov, Chairman of the Сoncern "Turkmenenergogurlushyk" (Turkmen Energy Construction) N.Atayev, as well as representatives of the project company Calik Holding.

The business trip of the Deputy Head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry to Islamabad will last until February 4.
