In the near future, large-scale projects will be launched in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea with the participation of Malaysia's PETRONAS to develop new hydrocarbon fields and conduct exploration work in promising oil and gas complexes.

This was reported by Mukhammetnur Atayev, a lecturer at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, in an article published in the "Turkmenistan" newspaper.

These projects were highlighted during bilateral talks held as part of the official visit to Turkmenistan by a delegation led by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.During the high-level meeting, both sides confirmed the productive nature of their long-standing cooperation in the energy sector.

Important agreements were reached during the negotiations regarding the implementation of new joint projects in the oil and gas industry, increasing production capacity on the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea, and further expanding sustainable investment cooperation.

Turkmen soil possesses rich hydrocarbon reserves.Large-scale efforts are being carried out at the state level to efficiently utilize these valuable resources, achieve new milestones in the oil and gas industry, and enhance the sector's overall capacity.

The efficient utilization of the country's rich fuel and energy resources and the development of new hydrocarbon deposits in the Caspian Sea will provide great opportunities to further expand international economic cooperation, foreign trade, and bilateral ties in the oil and gas sector.
