Turkmenistan and Russia held Inter-MFA consultations

Inter-MFA consultations between Turkmenistan and Russia were held in Moscow today. At the meeting the Turkmen party was represented by Deputy Minister Vepa Hadzhiev, and the Russian party was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues related to the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.Special attention was paid to the practical aspects of multifaceted work to counter security challenges and threats, development of economic cooperation and humanitarian ties within the SCO, and strengthening of its international positions.

Prospects for promoting cooperation between Turkmenistan and the SCO were discussed.

The consultations took place within the framework of the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to the Russian Federation, during which Foreign Ministers Rashid Meredov and Sergey Lavrov signed a Roadmap for cooperation between the countries on regional security, a Plan for implementation of the main directions of the Turkmen-Russian cooperation in the field of international information security for 2022-2025, as well as an Action Plan dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Russia.
