Turkmenistan and South Korea have outlined joint projects in energy and smart city technologies

An Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea Begench Durdyev met in Seoul with a Vice President of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) Lee Sang-jun.

This was reported by an International Information Centre of Turkmenistan.The parties discussed the prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.Among the most promising areas for joint projects, the interlocutors highlighted energy, petrochemicals, modernisation of transport infrastructure, as well as urban planning and smart city technologies.

Special emphasis during the meeting was placed on the organisation of joint economic events on the sidelines of the first Central Asia — Republic of Korea summit, which will take place in September of this year.

The Turkmen diplomat, for his part, emphasised that Ashgabat pays special attention to the development of trade and economic cooperation with Seoul and expressed confidence that active support from the Korea International Trade Association will make it possible to effectively prepare the upcoming business meetings and forums.
