Turkmenistan and the EBRD discussed promising areas of co-operation

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Mark Bowman in Ashgabat. The parties discussed further steps to improve the investment climate and implementation of joint projects, reported the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The talks focused on promising areas of co-operation in transport, logistics, IT, renewable energy, environment and exporter support.

Special attention was paid to the practical implementation of new projects using advanced technologies within the framework of the EBRD Country Strategy for Turkmenistan for 2019-2024.

The EBRD Vice President noted the great amount of work done over the years of partnership on the development of the private sector, strengthening of the financial system and transport communications in the region. He assured that the Bank is ready to continue to assist in attracting foreign investments to diversify the Turkmen economy.
