Turkmenistan and the EU strengthened cooperation with a new Protocol to the Partnership Agreement

Turkmenistan and the European Union signed a Protocol to the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement during the visit of the Turkmen delegation to Brussels, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

Within the framework of the signing ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with the Permanent Representative of Belgium to the EU, Willem van de Voorde, and the Managing Director of the European External Action Service for Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia and the OSCE, Michael Siebert.

Later, the head of the foreign ministry of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala. The parties reviewed the current state and prospects for interaction between Turkmenistan and the EU in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.
