Turkmenistan and the European Union discussed vectors for the development of business cooperation

Within the framework of the round table “Turkmenistan and the EU: towards a new economic partnership” in Brussels, separate business meetings of the Turkmen side with representatives of the business circles of the European Union were held, reports the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the heads of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Walloon Export and Investment Agency, as well as the vice-presidents of Philips and Picanol.

Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammethan Chakyev, held negotiations with the management of the port of Antwerp, as well as the companies Cargolux, Exagon Global BV, Royal IHC and DEME.

The parties discussed the supply of equipment, digitalization, the use of modern technologies and the prospects for opening service centers in Turkmenistan. The main topics also included potential projects, development of entrepreneurship and investment activities.

During the meetings, the importance of the experience of European partners for the transformation process in Turkmenistan was emphasized. The parties expressed their readiness for further fruitful cooperation and discussion of improving the legal environment for investment and business.
