Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan agreed to intensify cooperation in the energy sector

Meetings were held in Ashgabat between the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov and Baimyrat Annamammedov and Batyr Amanov, who are in charge of the construction, industrial and fuel and energy complexes of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, the parties discussed the issues of expanding trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects in the field of energy, the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" reports.

In particular, an agreement was reached on the activation of a multivariate system for the supply of Turkmen gas to foreign countries, primarily to neighboring Uzbekistan.

The parties also agreed on cooperation in the construction of a power line between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that both countries are major producers and exporters of energy resources, so cooperation in this area has great potential for them.

The active implementation of new projects in the energy sector will strengthen trade and economic ties between the two Central Asian countries and ensure the energy security of the region.
