Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan Discuss Developing Farap/Khojadavlet-Turkmenbashi Port Route

Representatives of Turkmenistan’s Demiryollary Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) and Uzbekistan’s Temir Yollari on Thursday held bilateral negotiations, during which the sides expressed interest in developing throughput capacity and increasing the volume of container cargo transportation on the route Farap/Khodjadavlet export point Turkmenbashi port - Farap/Khodjadavlet export point - Turkmenbashi port - Farap/Khodjadavlet export point.

The information-analytical media center of Uzbekistan's Temir Yollari reports that the sides discussed mutual cooperation between the two railway administrations.

During the talks, the sides also discussed transit transportation and discounts on transit sections, and on certain cargoes exported and transited on the territory of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

As a result of the meeting, a final protocol was signed between Uzbekistan’s Temir Yollari and Turkmenistan’s Demiryollary OJSC.

Earlier, representatives of Turkmen TULM and Iranian company Vision Global Terminal and representatives of Uzbekistan’s Temir Yollari held a meeting, during which they discussed opportunities for the development of container transportation on the route "Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran".
