Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed the creation of an Industrial-technological belt and a Supreme council

During a telephone conversation between the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, key initiatives for the development of bilateral cooperation were put forward.

In particular, the National Leader of the Turkmen people proposed to begin developing the Industrial-technological belt project.Within its framework, it is planned to create joint industrial enterprises and high-tech centres for the production of competitive and export-oriented products.

In addition, the National Leader of the Turkmen people stated the feasibility of building a transport and logistics centre on the border of the two states.The facility is intended to become part of a major transit corridor along the East-West route, linking Asia and Europe.

To implement these directions and take interstate cooperation to a new level, it was proposed to form a Supreme council Turkmenistan Uzbekistan.
