Turkmenistan Celebrates Eid al-Fitr

Turkmenistan marked Eid al-Fitr on Friday, celebrating the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. Festive prayers were held across all provinces and in the capital, Ashgabat.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov extended heartfelt congratulations on Eid al-Fitr, one of the oldest holidays promoting moral and spiritual purity worldwide, official Turkmen media reported.

According to the president, the holiday of Eid, which has developed over centuries and whose traditions have been passed down from generation to generation, solemnly proclaims the ideals of humanism and goodwill. He noted that the significance of the holiday is felt even more clearly in the era of the renaissance of Turkmenistan as a powerful state.

Berdimuhamedov also emphasized that in the year of the wide celebration of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, during the blessed month of physical and spiritual cleansing, the fast was observed, Tarawih prayers were held, and prayers were offered for the peace, well-being, and prosperity of the country and its people.

Eid al-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
