World Health Day was celebrated in Turkmenistan on Wednesday. A massive bike ride with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was held in Ashgabat on the occasion of this international date.
This event was attended by the deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of the Mejlis, military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, the capital's administration, public organizations, the media, universities and youth, the country’s official media reports.
Addressing the audience at the start of the ride, the Head of State congratulated everyone on the World Health Day held in the year titled "Turkmenistan - Homeland of Peace and Trust"
The President of Turkmenistan also noted that the World Track Cycling Championship and the Davis Cup International Tennis Tournament will take place in the capital's Olympic town this year.
Bike rides and various sporting events dedicated to World Health Day were also held in all velayats of the country.
