The management and leading specialists of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Halkbank Joint-Stock Commercial Bank held a working meeting with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Representative Office in Ashgabat on Tuesday. Representatives of the EBRD headquarters in London also took part in the meeting via video link.
According to the ministry's press release, the meeting participants discussed the current state and promising areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EBRD.
The sides also exchanged views on the EBRD's activities on financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Turkmenistan and noted the existing prospects for cooperation in this direction.
The officials noted the positive impact of activities within the framework of cooperation with the EBRD on the development of the country's private sector and the establishment of cooperation between Halkbank and the EBRD.
