Turkmenistan Establishes Interdepartmental Commission For Civil Aviation Safety

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on creating an interdepartmental commission on aviation safety and civil aviation at a regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on Friday, the official Turkmen media reports.

The document states that the authorities have formed an interdepartmental commission on civil aviation safety, and they have also approved the commission's composition and its regulations.

Mammethan Chakiyev, the Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers, in his report on the drafting of this Decree, emphasized that they carried out concerted work to ensure a high level of safety, stability, and efficiency of flights.

They also developed regulations in this area, aligning with the Air Code of Turkmenistan, the Transport Safety Act, and the standards, experience, and practices of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

Upon receiving the report, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the significant importance attached to the safety of the country's civil aviation during modernization. In this regard, he provided specific instructions to the Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
