Turkmenistan, EU Discuss Agenda for Upcoming High-Level Contacts

Turkmenistan’s ambassador to Belgium Sapar Palvanov met with Vivian Loonela, head of the Cabinet of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, to discuss practical aspects of cooperation and the agenda for potential high-level contacts.

The European side highly appreciated Turkmenistan’s support in evacuating EU citizens from Iran via its territory, highlighting the country’s reliability as a humanitarian partner, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium said Wednesday.

The sides identified priority areas of cooperation, including energy, transport and connectivity, critical raw materials, scientific research and climate.

As a next step, the participants emphasized the need to establish an effective platform for direct engagement between профиль agencies and institutions to move from political agreements to the practical implementation of joint initiatives.

The Turkmen ambassador also held a series of meetings with permanent representatives of EU member states to the European Union, including Pieter Jan Kleiweg de Zwaan of the Netherlands, Mikaela Kumlin Granit of Sweden, Neil Kerr of Malta, and Agnieszka Bartol of Poland.
