Turkmenistan-EU Trade Turnover Surges to Over €494.66 Million in Jan-May

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the European Union countries in January-May 2023 amounted to more than €494.66 million, Trend news agency reported on Tuesday, citing the statistical office of the European Union - Eurostat.

During the period, the trade between Turkmenistan and EU countries increased by 17.8 percent compared to the initial five months of the previous year (€406.3 million).

According to the agency, Turkmenistan's exports to the EU over the reporting period amounted to almost €273.16 million, which is a 29 percent increase compared to the same months of 2022 (€193.81 million).

In the first five months of 2023, Turkmenistan increased its imports from EU countries by 4 percent compared to January-May 2022 to €221.5 million.

In January-June 2023, Turkmenistan imported mineral products worth of €7.64 million from the EU countries.
