Issues related to strengthening foreign policy ties and expanding cooperation with countries in the Asia-Pacific region became one of the central topics at the latest Cabinet of Ministers meeting, which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired via the digital system.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, presented a report on the current state and prospects of cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries.
As noted during the meeting, deepening partnerships with the nations of this dynamically developing region is one of the key priorities of the President’s foreign policy strategy, which is based on the principles of peace, mutual respect, and positive neutrality.
In order to effectively implement foreign policy objectives and intensify interstate dialogue, the Deputy Prime Minister outlined proposals to expand the accreditation of the heads of Turkmenistan’s diplomatic missions.
According to the proposals presented, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to India will also be accredited as Ambassador to the Maldives.Likewise, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Malaysia will also serve concurrently as Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan remains committed to the consistent development of relations with all countries of the world.He noted that the Asia-Pacific region possesses enormous potential for the implementation of joint projects across a wide range of sectors.
Approving the proposals aimed at strengthening cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to carry out the necessary work.
