Turkmenistan Harvests 1.5 Million Tons of Wheat

Wheat growers of Turkmenistan successfully fulfilled their contractual obligations, harvesting around 1.5 million tons of wheat.

Annageldy Yazmyradov, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government in charge of the agro-industrial complex, announced the successful wheat harvest in his report to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Friday, the country’s official media reports.

The Head of State also signed a Decree regarding the delivery of wheat harvest to the state.According to the document, joint-stock companies, daikhan farms, other legal entities, as well as citizens of Turkmenistan, who received land plots from the special land funds of agricultural purpose, should deliver the harvest of wheat, produced in excess of the plan, established on the basis of the state order 2022 for the production of wheat, at a price of 1,600 manats per one ton.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan is instructed to ensure, in the prescribed manner, the timely settlements of the cost of wheat with joint stock companies, daikhan farms, other legal entities, as well as citizens of Turkmenistan, who deliver the crop of wheat.

The Cabinet meeting considered a number of draft documents and discussed pressing issues of socio-economic development and some other issues of the country.
