Turkmenistan holds its lead in the pipeline gas supply to China

Turkmenistan holds its lead among the key suppliers of the pipeline natural gas to Beijing in a period from January to October.During the specified period, China imported from Turkmenistan 19,79 million tons.

The second place on scope of supply takes Russia (over 5,94 million tons), followed by Kazakhstan (3,73 million tons), then Uzbekistan (2,57 million tons) and Myanmar (2,53 million tons).

In 2020 the leading supplier of the pipeline gas for needs of China’s economy was also Turkmenistan, its share was about 60% (20,7 million tons) of total volume of Beijing’s imports of this energy carrier.

For the same period Russia exported to China approximately 2,96 million tons.
