Turkmenistan, India Discuss Launch of New Joint Projects

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev met with Indian Ambassador Bandaru Wilsonbabu in Ashgabat on Wednesday to discuss prospects for launching new joint projects that could create additional opportunities for the business communities of both countries.

According to Turkmenistan’s official media, the sides also discussed ways to diversify bilateral trade.

Priority areas of cooperation included the textile industry, logistics, the digital economy and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Indian side confirmed its readiness to deepen the partnership, noting Turkmenistan’s strategic importance in India’s foreign policy.

Earlier, on Jan. 8, 2026, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with Indian Ambassador Bandaru Wilsonbabu in Ashgabat.
