Turkmenistan Intends to Expand Ombudsperson's Office With New Areas

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, put forward a proposal to explore the possibility of establishing new areas within the structure of the Ombudsperson's Office to protect the rights of children, women, and entrepreneurs, at the regular online government meeting on Friday.

The purpose of putting forward the initiative was to enhance the capacity of the Ombudsperson in Turkmenistan, the official Turkmen media reports.

Summarising the report, Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed the country's commitment to further development of cooperation with the United Nations.Turkmen President emphasised the need to pay special attention to the main vectors of collaboration with the UN and to work effectively on the practical implementation of the initiatives put forward and addressed relevant instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov.

Government meeting considered draft documents and other related matters.
