TURKMENISTAN INTENSIFIES COOPERATION WITH UCI

On October 9, 2020, a videoconference meeting with the Association of National Olympic Committees was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was attended by the General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan A. Muradov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B. Myatiev, as well as President of the Association of National Olympic Committees Robin Mitchell.

During the meeting, issues of active cooperation of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan with the Association of National Olympic Committees and the International Olympic Committee for the allocation of funds and the development of the Olympic movement in Turkmenistan within the framework of the Olympic Solidarity program were discussed.

In this regard, the Turkmen side noted that special funds allocated by the Association of National Olympic Committees will be used to create comfortable conditions for the preparation of Turkmen athletes for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Robin Mitchell stressed that Turkmenistan pays special attention to the development, improvement and expansion of sports. Work in this direction will help increase the prestige of our country and promote international sports cooperation.

The Turkmen side thanked the Association of National Olympic Committees and the International Olympic Committee for their efforts to develop relations in the field of sports.
