Turkmenistan, Iran Consider Ways to Boost Electricity Cooperation

A delegation from the Ministry of Energy of Iran headed by the Deputy Minister of Energy for Water and Wastewater Affairs Mohammad Javanbakht visited Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat on Tuesday to discuss Iran-Turkmenistan cooperation in the water and electricity field, and ways to develop ties in these areas, the Iranian Mehr news agency reported on Wednesday.

Iran’s Deputy Energy Minister held talks with Deputy Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan Serdar Saparov on ways of enhancing bilateral relations in the relevant field.

The sides expressed their interest in further expansion of mutual relations in the electricity field, according to the report.

The officials of the two countries also agreed to expand cooperation in the field of technical and engineering services, based on which, a specialized delegation of Turkmen Energy Ministry will soon visit Iran to get acquainted with Iran’s capabilities in electricity industry.
