Turkmenistan, Iran Discuss Further Development of Trade Ties

A delegation from Iran's North Khorasan Province, led by Governor Mohammad-Reza Hossein-Nejad, arrived in Turkmenistan to discuss the development of trade relations between the countries, the IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday.

The bilateral meetings of the delegation with Turkmen officials particularly focused on the development of border cooperation in order to increase trade turnover.

The meeting participants stressed the great potential for the implementation of joint trade-economic projects involving the private businesses of the countries. Medical industry, silkworm breeding, agriculture, and organization of specialized exhibitions were highlighted as possible directions for strengthening cooperation.

During the visit, the Iranian delegation visited Gokdepe mosque and museum. They also toured Türkmen Aýna Önümleri enterprise, the state producer of glass products in Ovadandepe of Ahal province’s Gokdepe district, and Babadayhan textile complex. The delegation got acquainted with the plants’ production processes and their products.
